About Eric Pitarresi

Eric Pitarresi founded Harris Rock Consulting with a clear mission: to empower small- to mid-sized nonprofits in developing sophisticated, efficient, and sustainable major gifts programs. Specializing in prospect research, major gifts strategy, and database administration, he offers a strategic, data-driven approach to fundraising that enables nonprofits to maximize their potential.
Eric brings over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. He currently serves as the Director of Philanthropy, Prospect Management at Gladstone Institutes, a leading nonprofit biomedical research organization in San Francisco. Previously, he was the Director of Philanthropy, Prospect Research & Donor Strategy at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla. His extensive experience also includes roles at the Museum of Contemporary Art – San Diego, Voices for Children, and San Diego Humane Society.
With a unique combination of critical thinking, analytical skills, and technical expertise, Eric applies a left-brained methodology to help organizations optimize their fundraising efforts. As a trusted partner to development teams, he uses data to craft actionable strategies that increase donor engagement and drive measurable success. He defines his professional success by the achievements of his fundraisers and the collaborations he fosters along the way.
Eric holds a B.A. in Communication from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. Outside of work, he enjoys trivia games, hunting for antiques and collectibles, nature walks with his family, and cheering on the New York Jets with fellow fans.
